At Emeraudes Internationale School, primary education, from Year 2 to Year 6, is a key stage in every child's educational journey. We guide pupils as they develop essential knowledge, strengthen their reasoning skills and gradually become more independent learners. Our ambition goes beyond the transmission of knowledge. We want every pupil to understand what they learn, apply their skills to practical situations and develop a love of learning, intellectual curiosity and confidence in their abilities.
Mastering Essential Skills
Reading, writing, oral communication and mathematics are central to our educational approach. Pupils progressively learn to read with understanding, write with greater accuracy, organise their ideas, reason logically and solve problems. Science, history and geography, creative activities and physical education also broaden their knowledge and encourage them to explore the world around them. Learning is structured progressively to consolidate essential skills and prepare pupils for the next stages of their education.
A Bilingual French-English Education
Learning French and English is an important part of EISE's educational vision. Our bilingual approach aims to develop pupils' language skills progressively, strengthen their comprehension and communication, and help them use both languages in situations appropriate to their level. The school offers a French curriculum and an educational pathway incorporating Cambridge International Education. Learning content and objectives are adapted to each pupil's pathway, with particular attention to continuity, progression and the development of essential skills.
Learning to Think, Explore and Solve Problems
We encourage pupils to ask questions, explain their thinking, exchange ideas and participate actively in classroom learning. Guided exercises, projects, practical activities and classroom discussions help pupils understand the purpose of what they learn. These experiences promote critical thinking, creativity, teamwork and the confidence needed to take on new challenges.
Supporting Every Learner
Every child develops at their own pace and may experience different learning challenges. Classroom observation, regular assessments and teacher feedback help identify what pupils have mastered and where further support may be needed. We also place great importance on respect, responsibility, cooperation and positive discipline. Pupils gradually learn to organise their work, care for their materials and take responsibility for their learning.
